Our tours are based out of Château de Fayolle, a beautiful property on the edge of Saussignac, a small village in the heart of South-West France. This tour has been created for lovers of fine wine and food, and includes dining at three Michelin Star restaurants. We also have a privately catered dinner one evening at your host's home in a wing of Château de Saussignac.
Our wine experience starts with tastings from two of Saussignac's local vineyards, followed by a wine education of Bordeaux Grand Crus, a day trip to the famous Bordeaux village of Saint Émilion (a UNESCO World Heritage site), including lunch at the restaurant of a Grand Cru Classé winery and visits to another two Grand Cru Classé estates. Finally, we round the week off with a special tour of the Medoc wine region and a farewell dinner at our château.
Day 1, Saturday 4th May 2019
Afternoon: Arrive (collection from Bergerac airport or train station*)
Evening: Welcome drinks followed by dinner at Le Café 1500, in Saussignac village
Day 2, Sunday 5th May 2019
Morning: Wine tasting at 2 vineyards in the Saussignac appellation (from 11am)
Afternoon: Lake side lunch at our château (weather permitting)
Evening: Degustation dinner at Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Troplong Mondot, Saint Émilion
Day 3, Monday 6th May 2019
Morning: Personal time
Afternoon: Lunch at Le Vieux Logis Tremolet, a Relais & Châteaux hotel and Michelin star restaurant
Evening: Dinner at our Château
Day 4, Tuesday 7th May 2019
Morning: Food & Wine Pairing lunch and Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé wine tasting and education class
Afternoon: As above
Evening: Dinner at Les Fresques, the Michelin Star restaurant at Château de Vigiers
Day 5, Wednesday 8th May 2019
Morning: Tour of Saint Émilion, lunch at La Terrace Rouge (Château la Dominique), followed by visits to 2 Grand Cru Classé estates
Afternoon: As above
Evening: Dinner at your host's home in a wing of Château de Saussignac
Day 6, Thursday 4th May 2019
Morning: Medoc wine tour
Afternoon: As above
Evening: Farewell dinner at our Château
* Depending on arrival times, guests may be able to be collected from and dropped off at Bordeaux airport.
